"I think of photography as a way to explore those things I encounter and to share in an original way with others.  The natural world provides an endless supply of inspiration and new ideas and my goal is to evoke a response in others for the appreciation of this beauty."
"I am a special education teacher, but photography is what I do in all my spare time.  At school I teach science, environmental education and photography at a small private school in Tempe. Last year I was also one of the judges for the Congressional Art Contest in Tempe, an art contest for high school students in the Tempe District. The winning piece is being displayed in the White House for a year."
Through my teaching I have had the opportunity to travel to several areas abroad through educator fellowships.  This has allowed for many inspirations in my teaching and as a photographer; often using my photographs to help educate others about conservation, cultures, and the environment."
Photography became more than a hobby when I acquired my first digital camera. This allowed me to really experiment with the craft of photography and my “artistic” side finally came out.  Since then I have run my own photography company, A Unique View Photography, specializing in Fine Art Photography of the natural world.
"I am constantly evolving by learning new techniques and processes that I apply to my photography. I love exploring the outdoors and can often be seen hiking with my camera in hand, so many of my photographs center around nature or my travels.
"I try to present images that are imaginative and original through creative viewpoints, composition, and beautiful lighting.  Not everyone likes to get up at the crack of dawn to catch the sunrise, but I love that time of day!  It is so peaceful and catching the colors and light of that time is magical.
"My photographs have been published in many books and magazines including: National Geographic, Parade Magazine, McDowell Sonoran Conservancy, and the Galapagos Conservancy.  Frequently I participate in local art walks, teach classes at the community level and have won many awards both locally and internationally. I have also exhibited at several local galleries including: Vision Gallery and Chandler Center for the Arts, Boyce Thompson Arboretum and the I.D.E.A. museum in Mesa.
